  • Apparently the future of journalism is outsourcing.

The Telegraph in London is now sending its travel, motoring and money pages along with parts of the Sunday Telegraph to a journalism clearing house in Australia (Pagemasters, which is part owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation and by Fairfax, the other major Aussie publisher) where it is edited and layed out then sent back to London (presumably as a PDF.)

Says chief executive Bruce Davidson, a former News Ltd executive “There is no doubt the centralisation of the production of newspapers is on the radar of a lot of publishers not only in Australia, but around the world.” [Guardian]
